Some moles are obviously benign, meaning they have little malignancy potential. Sometimes it's difficult to find a doctor to remove these, and especially to remove them with an eye for aesthetics. For flat warts, skin tags, or simple moles that don’t penetrate very deeply into the skin, we may perform the removal with radio-frequency ablation. This method utilizes a thin wire loop that is heated with radiofrequency waves. It prevents over-treatment of the area, which can result in scarring. Deeper moles, or those that appear "suspicious", as well as deep pores and minor scars, may be removed by punch biopsy, and carefully sutured together, leaving little detectable long-term scarring. (These moles may be sent for pathology analysis.) The area will be carefully "numbed" so that you don't feel a thing.
